The Battle of Johnsonville is the focus of two Tennessee state parks: Nathan Bedford Forrest State Park on the west side of the Tennessee River, and Johnsonville State Historic Park on the east side. In December 1929, the state established a park to Forrest's memory atop Pilot Knob, consisting of an obelisk and artillery pieces.  Camping, boat ramps and 30 miles of hiking trails are also available there. The Johnsonville Depot site on the east side was lost to a river dam, but two Union fortifications are interpreted at that park's welcome center on the river at the end of Old Johnsonville Road in Denver, Tennessee.
